On the evening of October 28, 2007, at the Johnny Carson Theatre in Norfolk, Nebraska, a dream came true for Micaela Johnson. She was crowned the new Miss Nebraska USA 2008! For her it couldn't have come as more of a surprise. Although this was her very first pageant, she was extremely proud and prepared to be the new representation of the state of Nebraska.

On January 1, 1985 Micaela was featured in the Dallas Morning Newspaper as the first New Year's baby born that day. The headline read "A Star is Born" and she most certainly has lead her life to those expectations. When she was 3, Micaela moved to the Heartland of America, Omaha Nebraska! She began acting classes at age seven, and landed her first lead role in a local production of "Magnus Fourpenny" at age thirteen! As well as acting, Micaela spent many hours, days, and years in dance studios. She was very honored to receive the title of "Nebraska's Cheerleader of the Year" in 2003!

During the Spring of her Senior Year, Micaela auditioned for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. At eighteen-years-old she moved down to Texas to wear those white boots, joining an organization that would change her life forever! During her two years as a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, Micaela was blessed with the fortune of many wonderful experiences. She cheered on the sidelines of Texas Stadium at every home game. As a member of their renowned Show Group, Micaela made many appearances all over the world. Over the Christmas Holiday of her rookie season, she went on her first USO Tour ... celebrating her 19th birthday while flying over Seoul, Korea on New Years Eve! In March 2005, Micaela was one of twelve women selected to entertain our military across the European continent. She says that those two weeks spent among the brave men and women who were fighting for our country, was a rewarding experience which shall last a lifetime. Overall, her professional cheerleading career was extremely physical, fast paced, and sometimes an emotional roller coaster. Through it all, Micaela has acquired many amazing friendships and an abundance of extraordinary memories that will remain inspiring forever!

Micaela was raised to never settle for anything less then her personal best. She has had incredible support from her family and friends, but attributes much of her determination and success to her parents' constant love and encouragement.

In Micaela's free time she enjoys scrapbooking, working out, rhinestoning just about everything, designing websites, shopping, and cooking the best Dr. Pepper Cake!

Alongside the charitable alliances of the Miss USA organization, Micaela will spend her year in reign by helping to promote a healthy lifestyle to those within her community. Her platform "Fighting Childhood Obesity" is any issue she feels passionate about and wants to reach out to adults and children on the importance of eating healthy foods and incorporating activity into their daily routine.

Presently, Micaela is attending the University of Nebraska at Omaha, majoring in Communications/Broadcasting. Her aspiration for life is to become a well-respected actress! Micaela is constantly looking towards the future with a positive attitude, trusting that her determination will lead her in the right direction!!!
